Chung Ying Theatre Company announced today (26th February) that, following an open recruitment process, the Board of Directors has appointed Ms Christy Lee Shuk-kwan as the Company's new Executive Director. She will succeed Ms Gladys Wong and will take office on 1st March 2026.

Lee is a veteran arts administrator and has served as producer in various theatre companies, and possesses extensive production experience. Since joining Chung Ying Theatre Company in 2012, she has developed an in-depth understanding of the Company's operations and demonstrated strong vision. With these strengths, she will lead Chung Ying in enhancing its brand presence, expanding resources, broadening platforms for cultural exchange, and delivering outstanding productions alongside diverse educational and outreach programmes, all in pursuit of the vision of ‘Theatre for All’.

Coupled with her many years of dedicated service to Chung Ying, and the leadership and innovative thinking she has consistently demonstrated, the Board is firmly convinced that she is the ideal choice for this position.”

Artistic Director Mr Dominic Cheung said, “Christy joined Chung Ying nearly 14 years ago. Starting in the Programme Department, she has weathered many challenges alongside our company members over the years. Yet, she has consistently demonstrated her passion and vision for performing arts, her loyalty to the company, and a professional, innovative management mindset. We look forward to continuing our work together to promote theatrical development and create a new chapter for Chung Ying.” 

Executive Director Designate Ms Christy Lee said, “I would like to thank the Board of Directors for their trust in me. Since joining Chung Ying in 2012, I have stood shoulder to shoulder with the company through challenges and shared in our successes. About Executive Director Designate Ms Christy Lee 
Ms Lee graduated successively from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and The Education University of Hong Kong, holding a Bachelor of Science in Statistics and an Executive Master of Arts in Arts Management and Entrepreneurship respectively. She has been engaged in arts administration for twenty years. In 2012, she joined Chung Ying Theatre Company, initially responsible for programme production. She later took on the integrated role of programme planning and marketing, leading the team to produce high-quality theatrical works and promoting them to a wider audience.
